When Research Reveals Everything

Fresh back from NYC with a story about the gap between doing the research and actually using it. What started as a messaging audit turned into pricing shifts, objection rewrites, and a whole new offer. Buckle up.

Sara's Story
The Gap Between What They Need and What You're Saying
This week, I sat down with Sara, one of our Tabernacle Residents who teaches womb work and cyclical living. She came to our 1:1 session preparedâspreadsheets, feedback forms, WhatsApp polls, the whole thing.
She'd spent weeks gathering feedback from her women. She did everything right.
But her sales weren't matching her effort.
The Challenge
Sara was giving everything away.
Three different 5-day free offeringsâcleanses with recipes, movement videos, journaling prompts. When women finished, she'd invite them to her Sacred Women's Circle for $29.
Her women told her: "I've never experienced anything like this in my life."
Her response? Create more free content! (We did laugh about this đ)
Meanwhile, her $333 Ember Sessions (3-part 1:1 journey)? Women kept rescheduling. Not because of the priceâthey could afford it. "Stuff kept coming up."
When I asked what feedback she got, she rattled off the objections:
- "I don't have time"
- "I'm afraid of what I'll uncover"
- "What if this isn't for me?"
Then I asked what her offers promised:
- "Reconnect with your womb"
- "Harmonize your chakras"
- "Feel grounded and aligned"
You see the problem?
The Gap
Sara's promises talked about WHERE her women would go. But her messaging never addressed WHY they were stuck in the first place.
She was telling them about the destination without acknowledging the roadblocks.
Therefore, we needed to translate what her women were really saying:
"I don't have time" = I'm overwhelmed and adding one more thing feels impossible
"I'm afraid of what I'll uncover" = What if this changes everything and I can't handle it?
"What if this isn't for me?" = I'm not spiritual enough, flexible enough, worthy enough for this work
Sara was teaching the skill (how to connect with your womb) without addressing the will (do I even have permission to take time for myself?).
The Strategy
Here's what we mapped out in 60 minutes:
First, fix the pricing
- Sacred Circles: $29 â $49 (honoring the transformation)
- Consolidate to ONE free offer instead of three
- This isn't greed. This is recognizing that undercharging trains people to expect magic for nothing.
Second, address the #1 objection FIRST
Before Sara sells her $333 Ember Sessions, she's creating the Sacred Pause Masterclass: "How to Create Time for Yourself Without Adding to Your To-Do List"
- Price: $49-67
- Format: Recorded, watch anytime
- Result: 3 practical shifts that create spaciousness
Why this works:
- Addresses "I don't have time" directly
- Low commitment to test the waters
- Qualifies buyers for 1:1s
- Becomes an evergreen funnel
Third, build the ascension ladder
FREE â Root to Rise 5-Day Journey
$49-67 â Sacred Pause Masterclass
$333 â Ember Sessions (1:1s)
$499 â 7-Week Womb & Chakra Journey
Each step prepares them for the next. No more women rescheduling because they weren't ready.
Sara's Story
The Aha Moment
Halfway through our call, Sara said: "I think that's why I'm sitting with the freebies... Is free the only way you'll come?"
I told her: "Your women are BLOCKED. They need the mindset shift before the practice shift. Give them the masterclass that addresses their objection. Then let's see if they say YES to your 1:1s."
In Progress
The Results
Sara's current revenue: ~$2,500 in 90 days
Sara's projected revenue: $7,000-14,000 in 90 days
But more importantly:
âż She's honoring her work with proper pricing
âż She's addressing objections in her messaging, not just her promises
âż She's building a clear path from curious to committed
âż She's giving her women permission BEFORE asking for practice

What I'm Working On
This month I've been deep in implementation mode with my Tabernacle Residentsârunning Mid-Residency calls and our second Day Retreat where spiritual entrepreneurs are getting crystal clear on their positioning, launching retreats, and finally putting their offers out into the world. I'm also refining my own messaging around turning your healing journey into a profitable business, because that's the work that lights me up. It's messy, it's vulnerable, and it's so worth it.
What I'm Loving
Coming back from NYC with fresh eyes on client transformations. Sometimes you need distance to see patterns clearly.
What I'm Celebrating
Sara's courage to raise her prices and create the masterclass. She could have stayed comfortable with everything free. But she chose to honor her workâand her womenâby building something sustainable.

If you're doing the research but your messaging isn't landingâthis is exactly what we work on in Tabernacle. We fix the gap between what your people need to hear and what you're actually saying.
Applications open for our next cohort. Reply with "READY" and let's talk.

Here's what I know: Your intimacy and being in the ring with them IS your competitive advantage. Your soulful approach IS what they're craving. But if your messaging doesn't address their objections, they'll never make it through your door.
Do the research. Then do the translation.
Until next Sunday, keep creating with clarity and confidence.
With soulful support,
Erica
