The Language You Choose Is The Voice Your Business Becomes

Do I speak my native language or is English a better option for further reach? Something that's been coming up with multiple clients this week - and I think it might be exactly what you need to hear.

Which language do I use?
When Translation Becomes Dilution
Two of my Tabernacle Residents came to me with the same question this week, just in different languages (literally).
One's a yoga teacher who teaches in Spanish but has been slowly shifting her content to English because she thinks it'll reach more people. The other is a healer who grew up speaking English but feels most at home teaching in her native language - yet she's been forcing herself to show up in English because "the market is bigger."
Both of them were exhausted. Both felt like imposters. Both said something similar: "I feel like I'm watching myself teach instead of actually teaching."
And here's what I realized - this isn't really about language at all.
The Nervous System Knows
Your nervous system can tell when you're not fully present.
More importantly? Your audience can feel it too.
When you're split between languages, between voices, between versions of yourself - your people sense that hesitation. That internal conflict. That you're not entirely committed to what you're saying.
And when people feel that uncertainty coming from you, they don't trust enough to invest. They don't feel safe enough to follow. They scroll past instead of stopping to read.
It's not that your audience won't understand you. Translation tools exist now. It's that you're diluting your own power by trying to reach everyone.
Pick One. Own It.
This applies whether you're choosing between languages or positioning or which audience to serve or what your core message is.
The rule is the same: Pick one positioning and stick with it. Pick one ideal client and speak to them. Pick one core message and say it repeatedly.
Stop trying to be everything to everyone.
For my Spanish-speaking client? We made the decision. All in on Spanish. Her courses, her content, her community - Spanish first. English becomes the secondary support (captions, translations, accessibility). But her voice? That stays home.
Know what happened? Within three weeks, people started commenting that she felt different. More grounded. More powerful. Like they were finally meeting her instead of watching her perform.
Because when you commit to one language, one voice, one way of being - that's when the real connection happens. That's when the nervous system settles. That's when you can be fully present.
And fully present teachers, healers, and creators? They convert. They build community. They make sales.
How To Choose (If You're Stuck)
Here's the test: Which language (or voice, or positioning) makes you feel most at home?
Not the one that sounds smartest. Not the one that reaches the broadest market. The one where you feel like yourself.
That's where your authenticity lives. That's where your power is strongest.
Your audience doesn't need you to be bigger or broader. They need you to be clear.
Clarity beats reach every single time.
Behind the Scenes
I'm noticing a pattern with the clients I'm working with right now: they've all out-grown the version of themselves they're still trying to perform. They built a platform in one language (literal or metaphorical), and now they're ready to step fully into who they actually are.
This work of choosing and committing? It's identity work. It's nervous system work. And it's some of the bravest business building you can do.
✿
If you're feeling split right now - whether it's about language, positioning, or which version of yourself to show up as - here's your permission slip to choose.
Pick one. Commit. Watch what happens when you stop performing and start being.
Your nervous system will thank you. Your audience will feel the difference. And the right people will finally show up.
For My Tabernacle Residents & Alumni
This is exactly what we wil be working on this week in the Saturation & Seduction phase - we narrow down to your actual frequency instead of the version you think you should be broadcasting.
That clarity is what makes the rest of your messaging land. That commitment to one voice is what makes your sales pages, your content, your entire presence feel undeniable.
If you're feeling scattered across multiple languages, multiple audiences, or multiple versions of your message - this is the moment to zoom in. Let's make the call together.
Until next Sunday, pick one voice and trust it fully.
With soulful support,
Erica
