When Your Creative Confidence Disappears
Like many spiritual creatives I work with, they have incredible work ethic and endless patience for others, but what if persistence does not pay off?

"My creative confidence disappeared. Now What?"
This is what one of my Tabernacle Residents said to me. Not as a dramatic confession, but as a simple truth shared during our 1:1.
She wasn't looking for a quick fix. She was acknowledging where she was - her creative practice had felt blocked. Ideas weren't flowing, nothing felt aligned, and she'd noticed.
The interesting thing about creative confidence is that it rarely vanishes overnight. It slips away gradually as we pile on expectations. Thinking, "Maybe I'm not trying hard enough. Maybe I just need more discipline."
But pushing without purpose? That's a fast track to self-doubt.
For this particular Resident, her process had become rigid. She was creating consistently but mechanically, and the spark was fading. She wasn't burned out exactly, just... disconnected from her why and her people.

A Necessary Silence
What we did next wasn't revolutionary, but it was effective. We embraced a necessary silence - that intentional pause that allows you to slow everything down.
She didn't need productivity; she required realignment.
We started by setting aside quiet time to notice - what still felt good in her creative practice? What had become heavy? What was she curious about that she hadn't explored yet?
Then we designed a simple 30-day approach using elements from our creative process:
- Week 1 (A Necessary Silence): Ease up on output. Take walks. Listen to music. Read for pleasure. Create empty time where new inspiration can find you.
- Week 2 (Saturation & Seduction): Immerse yourself in what attracts and inspires you without judgment. Collect ideas, images, and words that spark joy, regardless of whether they seem "useful."
- Week 3 (Design & Definition): Define what creativity means in this new season of your life. Choose one small project that genuinely interests you based on your new understanding.
- Week 4 (Revisions and Usefulness): Look back and notice what emerged from this process. How has your relationship with your creativity shifted?
No productivity. No deadline. Just space for her natural creativity to breathe again through intentional silence and seduction.
Over the following weeks, something shifted. Not all at once, but in small, meaningful ways. She started bringing ideas to our calls that excited her. Her work had a more experimental quality. She became less concerned with how things "should" look and more interested in what she genuinely wanted to express.
By saturating herself with inspiration and creating without the pressure to impress or impact, she redefined what creativity meant for her in this new season - spirituality integrated with creativity.

What Tabernacle Residents Are Experiencing
As we wrapped up our most recent 90-day journey, I loved hearing the honest reflections from the group:
"I think my social media definitely feels more organized. You helped me find that sweet spot between structure and spiritual alignment. I'm really proud of my brand now - I actually love it. People even stop me in stores saying they follow me and love what I'm doing."
— Sivan
"I had a lot of fear around marketing when I started. Now I have the courage to make videos and put myself out there - things I was scared to do before. And I'm staying focused instead of going off in all directions. Even my newsletters feel clearer."
— Jill
"I feel more organized in how I send my voice and offerings into the digital space. I love how you helped me find what's core, what's essential, and how to bring it into visibility. The graphic material we created together feels completely aligned with who I am."
— Laura
"I finally launched my Substack and Instagram! I wrote something extremely vulnerable, and while it feels scary, I also really feel that spirit was calling me to make a move. I appreciate your balance of firmness and encouragement along the way."
— Nikki
Your creative practice may feel obligatory instead of joyful, leaving you disconnected from your work. There's no need for a drastic change or more discipline. Instead, embrace the silence, let yourself be inspired, and redefine creativity for this season of your life.
Behind the Scenes
Remember that 21-day Instagram experiment I shared last week? This case study about creative confidence is actually one of the insights that emerged from that process. When we push for visibility without connecting to our purpose, we often lose our creative spark.
This is just a taste of what I'll be covering in the three free Tabernacle modules dropping April 15th. If you haven't already, reply with "MODULES" in the subject line to get on the waitlist.
I automated this email to go out while Noa and I flew to Wyoming, for some necessary silence of our own with a Tabernacle Alumni until April 13th. I know the intentional pause will fill me with fresh ideas for our May cohort.
Speaking of which, only 4 spots now remain for our May 2nd start date! The $600 enrollment discount is still available through April 30th, but those final spots fill fast.

You don't have to rush to produce. You get to pause. You get to realign. And you get to rebuild something that actually supports your vision. Start small. Stay intentional.
Until next Sunday, keep creating in whatever way feels true for you today.
With soulful support,
Erica
Our "From Learning to Leading" private audio feed begins when I return from Wyoming. This series explores that powerful transition from student to guide in your creative field – perfect timing if you've been feeling that creative block we discussed today. The first module on April 15th addresses exactly how to reignite your creative confidence after a period of disconnection.
