The Dating Game of Business
An unexpected business truth I discovered in a meet-cute.

More Similar Than You Think
Finding Love, Finding Clients
Last Saturday, Noa and I were standing in line at Flower Child when a cute surgeon struck up a conversation behind us. We chatted about yoga, exchanged Instagrams, and after some mutual following and commenting, I took a bold step: "Are we just friends, or are you going to ask me out? I'm curious and happy either way."
His response was promising: "I would love to take you out. My parents are in town, but what's your schedule look like next week?"
I shared my availability, and he even sent me a romantic song that I actually liked. #iykyk Then... silence. A whole week went by with nothing.
Maybe this exact scenario didn't happen to you, but you know the feeling, yes? That moment when you put yourself out there – whether in love or in business – and the response isn't quite what you hoped for?
Here's where it gets interesting: The emotions we experience in dating mirror exactly what many of my Tabernacle clients feel when launching their offerings.
The excitement of a promising lead, the vulnerability of putting yourself out there, the disappointment of getting ghosted – it's all part of both journeys.

The Progression of Faith
What I've learned, both in my personal life and in guiding hundreds of spiritual solopreneurs, is that success follows a specific progression:
Believing → Knowing → Expecting → Assuming It's Already Happened
It's not about hoping things might work someday. It's about staying deeply connected to your work and knowing it's already happening. And no, this is not just hokey positive thinking––it's a practical approach to maintaining momentum when results aren't immediate.
When a potential client seems interested but then goes quiet, or when your launch doesn't immediately hit the numbers you dreamed of, you have two choices: you can see it as rejection, or you can see it as an imprint of what's possible.
Success Follows
Your Internal Cheerleader
In Tabernacle's Week Five, we dive deep into this mindset work through subconscious processing and self-hypnosis. Our guest speaker, Monica Tschuggnall, guides us through powerful exercises to program our internal cheerleader – that voice that keeps us going when external validation is scarce.
*and I also wrote an entire newsletter on Why Your Business Needs Hypnosis.
Here's a snippet of what we practice:
Every night as you fall asleep or first thing in the morning, try this:
- Visualize your ideal business scenario in vivid detail
- Feel the emotions of already having achieved it
- Repeat to yourself: "I am already successful. My perfect clients are already finding me."
- Let this feeling of certainty carry into your day

Persistence
This week, I had my second call with the Chief Editor of Yoga Journal about integrating Angelus as video content for their digital publishing world. This is exactly how I first envisioned the heroine's story when I was building and designing Angelus – creating an experience where readers could truly engage with chakra studies, not just read about them.
What I'm Working On :
There is a new venture in the works! I am launching a Chakra Studies Teacher Development program. We're kicking off with a FREE session on February 4th, where you'll share your challenges and wishes and get hands-on experience with the material. Then, in our second session, you'll have the opportunity to present what you've learned and receive supportive feedback from our community. Click here to join.
All sessions will be recorded, and you'll have ongoing community support between sessions to keep you motivated and growing.
What I'm Celebrating:
The Yoga Journal collaboration feels like a full-circle moment. It's a perfect example of keeping faith in your vision, even when the timeline isn't what you expected.
Plus, this combination of the Yoga Journal collaboration and our new Teacher Development Program feels like the perfect alignment of past vision and future growth. It reminds me that sometimes our dreams don't just come true – they evolve into something even better than we imagined.
What I'm Learning :
The response to last week's newsletter that inspired this week's topic :
"I love your newsletter, I read each and every one of them. They are very inspiring to see how you can build and materialize step by step something that seems to come from...energy and the subtleness of dreams. Thank you đź’ś Sending you a big big hug"
Keep those replies coming; they fuel my creative fire!

Until next Sunday, keep believing in your work wholeheartedly, and carry yourself like someone who's already achieved their dreams. Whether you're looking for love, clients, or both – your persistence is your power.
With faith and determination,
Erica
